I obtained my PgD counselling and psychotherapy and Adv.dip Exist.Psych at the Regents University London. I received tuition from the eminent existential-analyst Dr John Heaton and renowned psychotherapist Freddie Strasser. I also receive group supervision from the celebrated existential psychologist Professor Ernesto Spinelli.
As a counselor and psychotherapist I work with individuals on short term and open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. I firmly believe that if a client is treated with warmth and respect, that person will value him or herself and become confident and therefore more able to find their own direction and meaning in life.
There are certain core conditions necessary for therapeutic change these are: Empathy; unconditional positive regard and genuineness. I value this approach in my work with my clients as it can help me form a therapeutic relationship on an interpersonal level which enables me to build up a significant level of trust between the client and myself.
I work with people of all ages with a wide range of issues such as problems of sexuality and relationship, sexual abuse and domestic violence, trauma, anxiety and stress, depression, bereavement and loss, general life crisis, mid life crisis, panic attacks, counselling, low self esteem and loss. I help people who are at a crossroads in their lives, for example those coping with changes of personal circumstances such as bereavement, infertility, loss of direction, feelings of isolation, feelings of meaningless and loss of employment, and those who are working through a developmental or situation crisis, or who are starting a new phase of life. I am passionate about working with those who are experiencing life transitions associated with becoming older. I am also passionate about working with people at the end of their lives or who are terminally ill.
