Existential Psychotherapy
Existential psychotherapy can be used to explore any dilemma that arises in life and can help to think things through and gain new ideas and perspectives. For example you might feel that you have not achieved the things you wanted in life or you just want to get more out of life. Whether this is to do with relationships, work, or life in general, Existential Psychotherapy enables you to evaluate your options and can help you look realistically at what you want from life and explore what might be getting in the way of achieving what you want. In the first session I will attempt to gain a picture of your various struggles, problems, successes, limitations, and your experiences as you express them. In doing so I will enable you to gain a clearer understanding of how you relate to yourself and others. Most people find that through understanding you can begin to recognise the choices that you are currently making and consider the effect of those choices on you and on other people around you.
As an Existential psychotherapist I view my clients as unique individuals with the underlying strength to be able to re-assert themselves in making positive choices to find inner strength and establish her or himself in the world again. For many people Existential psychotherapy can be extremely rewarding, challenging and enlightening. If you feel that you are at a crossroads or a time in your life that you want to understand more about the choices you have made, and the choices that you could make then Existential therapy could be for you.
